Move 24 for Depaul
Move 24 is here, on Friday 14th June at 15:00 the plan is to keep a baton moving continuously for 24 hours. We are defining moving for this challenge as anything above a walk. Objectives are as follows in priority order:
Raise a shit load cash for Depaul UK. Depaul UK are trying to end youth homelessness. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/move24
Raise awareness for Depaul UK and the work they do and how they do it, which will in turn help the cause.
Give people a fitness goal, a challenge to work towards with health being the winner.
Bring some good like minded people together. I personal guarantee you’ll meet someone interesting or nice, probably both. (to clarify this is not a matching making fitness charity event)
So what’s the crack?
From 3pm on Friday 14th June a baton will be kept moving for 24 hours. 15:00 to 23:00 we will be based on Highbury Fields, from 23:00 to 7:00 we will be based at the Emirates stadium then 7:00 to 15:00 back up to Highbury fields for the rest of Saturday. On the Friday there will be some food, drinks, some rounders, a general gathering of nice people full of Friday cheer.. We shall then move down to the Emirates under the an alcove by the Tony Adams statue (I say “we” with hope in my heart) where Arsenal have provided a toilet we have access to through the night. Saturday morning comes and we will move back up to the fields, at 9am there will be a yoga session run by Sorcha an excellent local Yoga teacher and at 11:15am there will be Bootcamp session run by Nick, both sessions are open to all. The final cherry on the cake is that Arsenal have agreed that anyone supporting the event can go along for a stadium tour on the Saturday morning.
How will we raise as much as we can?
By everyone sharing the just giving link. If you do fancy holding the baton, or participating in anyway (that includes drinking beer on Highbury Fields chatting about the LTNs) I’d very much like you to share the link with the people in your life and get them to sponsor you. This is how we will maximise our fund raising potential in order to help young homeless people. I repeat to help young people without anywhere to call home. www.justgiving.com/campaign/move24

No, you can just donate. www.justgiving.com/campaign/move24 You can support the runners in many ways, bake a cake, bring me some tea at 5am, cake and tea maybe. Come down for chat, pass on good wishes, anything you think that maybe encouraging or helpful you will be supporting the cause.
Also the “run” in this event is classified as anything above a walk, your speed means nothing here, you could argue the slower the better!!
-
Yes that would be maybe a good idea if you have a precise time you wish to run. See form on the page or message the whats app no - 07822013759 to book a slot.
But feel free to also just show up that will be fine, you just may have to wait to run……I’m guessing 3am though should be reasonably clear.
-
Our Highbury Fields loop is approximately 600m and the emirates loop in approximate 740m. So one of those would the minimum. But remember the “run” is anything just above a walk
-
This is your moment to maybe challenge yourself, train for it, give it a go. By June 14th you could have made a difference to a vulnerable young persons life and also become bit of a runner. Any tips needed I know a man….
-
Absolutely, they’ll just need to fill out the form on the page. The more the better.

DePaul is a charity that was set up to end youth homelessness. https://www.depaul.org.uk/about-us/

No do it however you wish, maybe run with some fiends, have a little chat as long as the baton is moving that’s all the matters.
-
No, do whatever you wish come along for 2 minutes or stay for the whole party….totally up to you anything you want to do is great!

YES. On our just giving page you create your own fund raising page, which will allow them to easily see your specific donation that they will match. Whilst still appearing on the overall grand total.
